One of the leaders in the home theater space Pioneer came to show off their new award winning SP-SB23W speakerbar along with their Elite series receiver. This is the first time in 15 years Pioneer has released a speakerbar and they've really used that time to come out with an amazing sounding one at that. The six speaker system delivers an incredible sound that you would only expect to hear from a $1000+ system, but this bad boy is priced with an affordable $400 price tag, and that includes a wireless subwoofer. The SP-SB23W has an optical, stereo RCA, and Bluetooth connection options. You don't find many speakerbars with a bluetooth option for connectivity at this price point.

Along with the speakerbar offering Pioneer showed off its SC-79 Elite receiver with all its bells and whistles. The SC-79 comes equipped with a mind blowing 9 HDMI In and 3 HDMI out, support for 4K upscaling and pass through for upcoming 4K TVs, Airplay and DLNA compatible for sharing from mobile devices and every flavor of Dolby Digital under the sun. The unit on display had a Roku HDMI dongle plugged in the front and was able to simultaneously play one video source on the tv it was connected to while streaming the Roku connection to another TV via HDBaseT (HDMI extension via LAN). Pioneer has also included the ability for the home theater audiophile to tweak every aspect of the sound output along with input controls with a free iOS and Android app that was easy to use. For many people the flagship Elite series is a bit of overkill with all its capabilities but for a tech nerd like me it was everything I could ask for.
